Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks will put his Gritterman multimedia project back up on stage in December.

The Gritterman has already been released as an illustrated book and companion album, and its narrator Paul Whitehouse will be joining Weeks this time when he plays two shows at Union Chapel in London and one at Manchester’s Albert Hall. “Last year’s concert was very special,” he’s said.

“It’s going to be a real pleasure trying to recreate that atmosphere, not just in Union Chapel but in the Albert Hall too. This year my focus has been on writing a new album, so it will be nice to come back to The Gritterman music.”

The Gritterman is the story of, ‘an ice-cream man in the summer months’ whose ‘true love is his other seasonal job: to secure the safety of treacherously icy roads at the height of winter’.

Tour dates:

December
10,11 – London, Union Chapel
12 – Manchester, Albert Hall
