It was back in April when The Libertines were offered the chance to not only headline the Wheels & Fins Festival but to curate their entire day’s line-up as well.
That line-up has now been confirmed, with Echo & The Bunnymen perhaps the biggest name on the bill for September 9th. Also heading to Joss Bay Beach in Broadstairs, Kent are Reverend & The Makers, Cabbage, Chas & Dave, Mic Righteous, Lock and Zuzu.
The Libertines day has been dubbed ‘Sharabang’, and will take place not far from where the band recently fulfilled a long-held ambition to inhabit their own hotel and studio. Known as The Albion Rooms, it’s become the base for their work on a fourth album.
“We’re looking to bed in together,” Carl Barat told NME before those plans came to fruition. “We want to get our own place, which is a bit of a long and convoluted project. There’s a lot of planning and maybes which I can’t say too much about, but we’re looking at getting our own factory.”
