Our New Track Of The Week is Transit Paul, taken from Sweaty Palms‘ just-announced debut album Quit Now.
“It doesn’t scream for your attention in the way most modern records do,” they the Glaswegian band have said of it. “Inversely if that makes you completely ignore it, that’s fine too: we weren’t talking to you anyway.”
Ronan Fay (guitar), Robbie Houston (vocals & guitar), Shaun ‘Monty’ Montgomery (bass) and Tom Ross (drums) all hail from Glasgow and say they met, ‘at a support group for the rehabilitation of cult survivors’. They continue:
“We found that making music helped shatter the illusions that years of brainwashing had ingrained in our psyches.”
Their debut album is due on June 8th, with a hometown show at the Stereo venue booked the day after. They began a headline UK tour earlier this week and have more dates coming up in Newport, Bristol, London, Southampton and Brighton.
