Slaves have launched their own record label.
Named after the briefest of punk gales from their debut mini-album, Girl Fight Records has signed up Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman’s fellow Tunbridge Wells dwellers Lady Bird as its first act; the trio’s maiden release will be a single entitled Spoons. They also play a BBC Introducing show at The Lexington in London on February 1st.
Slaves themselves, meanwhile, could have new music out in the not-too-distant future after Holman told Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music last summer how the end of the 2017 festival season was going to spark some third album recording sessions. “We’ve got a few days off now and then we go into the studio – start getting some new stuff down,” he said.
