Ahead of their UK festival performances at Tramlines and Truck this weekend, The Libertines‘ drummer Gary Powell has told fans when to expect a new studio album.
During an interview with the Sheffield Star, Powell revealed the follow-up to 2015’s Anthems For Doomed Youth is planned for ‘spring next year’, and added that a few new tunes could be brought out during the aforementioned gigs:
“There’s always the possibility of sneaking in a little bit of something new just for people to get to grips with whatever direction that we will be taking next, to keep people as emotionally engaged as we possibly can.”
In a move away from its metropolitan set-up of old, Tramlines is set to become an exclusively outdoor event this year, and also has the likes of Metronomy, The Coral, We Are Scientists, Twin Atlantic and Loyle Carner on the line-up.
