The Rolling Stones are back at number one in the UK with their ode to the blues Blue & Lonesome.
Recorded with producer Don Was over just three days at London’s British Grove Studios earlier this year, the album has landed the veteran band their first chart topper in the UK since 1994’s Voodoo Lounge. Eric Clapton joined them in the studio for guest appearances on Little Johnny Taylor‘s Everybody Knows About My Good Thing and Otis Rush‘s I Can’t Quit You Baby.
The BBC reports first weeks sales 106,000 – a figure second only to David Bowie’s Blackstar this year.
