The Beatles‘ out-of-print, ‘Live At The Hollywood Bowl‘ album will be newly released in September.
Drawn from the original three track tapes, remastered by Giles Martin and Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios, the album documents The Beatles’ three sold-out concerts at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl in 1964 and 1965 – amongst their most enduring live appearances.
CD, digital and streaming releases arrive on September 9th, followed by a 180-gram vinyl edition on November 18th, this carrying a 24-page booklet. “The chaos, I might almost say panic, that reigned at these concerts was unbelievable unless you were there,” George Martin once said of the original live album.
“Only three track recording was possible; The Beatles had no ‘fold back’ speakers, so they could not hear what they were singing, and the eternal shriek from 17,000 healthy, young lungs made even a jet plane inaudible.”
It’s being released to help promote the forthcoming Ron Howard movie The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years.
