Chvrches have given up a brand new song to the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst video game.
Iain Cook believes ‘Warning Call’ fits perfectly with the setting of the game – he’s said:
“The sound of Chvrches’ music resonates with the minimalist sci-fi dystopia of the ‘Mirror’s Edge’ world, and we feel that the song complements the drama, emotion and empowering themes of Faith’s story.”
It’s more new music from Chvrches just a relatively short time after their second album ‘Every Open Eye‘, which Martin Doherty told Pitchfork was recorded with a conscious effort on retaining the winning sound of debut ‘The Bones Of What You Believe‘.
“After making one record that people really like, some bands reject the things that everyone liked about them and make some really deep, thoughtful, dark record – but I wanted to avoid making a ‘mature’ album,” he said. “That said, it’s not like we’re making saccharine shite.”
“There’s important lyrical content, and we’re still pushing the same emotional boundaries, but also trying to make it as accessible as possible.”
