Miles Kane is hoping to resume a songwriting collaboration with Paul Weller which began with his recent second solo album ‘Don’t Forget Who You Are‘.
Kane has told the Daily Star he first met up with Weller back in 2011, and would now welcome the opportunity to work with the Modfather again in the future after the pair penned the tracks ‘You’re Gonna Get It‘ and ‘Fire In My Heart‘.
“I’d love to write more with Paul,” Kane says. “We’ve become good friends over the past year. I can’t speak highly enough of him and we’ve got a nice relationship.
“I met him Christmas 2011 and a month later we saw each other again and went in the studio. In the middle of that, we’d go for a coffee in Notting Hill, where he takes his kids skateboarding. He really does want me to do well.”
Miles Kane was speaking to the newspaper at last weekend’s Glastonbury festival, where he performed a storming set inside the John Peel tent before joining the Arctic Monkeys onstage at the end of the Sheffield band’s headlining spot.
