Johnny Depp joined The Black Keys at last night’s (June 3rd) MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles for a performance of the blues duo’s single ‘Gold On The Ceiling‘.
After being presented with the MTV Generation Award by Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Depp celebrated his honour by taking to the stage with The Black Keys, telling the audience that his award was the, “…get out of the business award. Based on watching all of those clips there is clearly something wrong with me.”
The performance is the latest flirtation with the rock world for the Hollywood star after a string of guest appearances and recordings over the years. He recently covered Carly Simon‘s 1972 single ‘You’re So Vain‘ for a bonus track which appears on Marilyn Manson’s new album ‘Born Villain‘.
“He played drums and lead guitar, and I played guitar and sang,” Manson told MTV News of the hook up. “It’s a bonus track on my new record and the video will probably be us looking at each other in a mirror.”
