Mumford & Sons will release the follow-up to their international breakthrough debut album ‘Sigh No More‘ in September, the band have confirmed.
According to reports, Marcus Mumford revealed the news yesterday (May 28th) while on stage at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, before keyboard player Ben Lovett announced plans for an autumn release, with a release date of September 24th being widely touted in the media.
Mumford & Sons have been locked in recording sessions for most of this year, and played a selection of new songs during a special performance at the South By Southwest festival in Austin last March. They are also due to road-test new material on a low-key UK tour which will kick-off in Cardiff later this month.
In addition, the group have contributed a new track to the soundtrack for the latest Pixar film Brave. Entitled ‘Learn Me Right‘, it has been written, arranged and produced by Mumford & Sons, and will feature singer Birdy on lead vocals.
