The French actor, writer and director Julie Delpy has been brought on board to direct the forthcoming biopic of late Clash frontman Joe Strummer, reports Variety.
To date, few concrete details on the film have been released, though it is thought to concentrate primarily on Strummer’s life after he left The Clash in 1982, until his untimely death in 2002. Despite this, the film is said to be called The Right Profile – taken from the title of a stand-out track from The Clash’s classic album ‘London Calling‘.
Simon Halfon, the designer famous for his graphical work with British bands such as Oasis and The Jam, is apparently also attached to the project as producer.
Julie Delpy has just finished production on the film 2 Days In New York, which is the follow up to the 2007 feature 2 Days In Paris. She is perhaps best known for the movies Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.
