Liam Gallagher: I’ve Heard Half Of Noel’s Solo Album

Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has claimed to have heard ‘over half’ of the material set for inclusion on brother Noel‘s debut solo album.

Speaking to Uncut as his new band prepares to release their own debut album, Liam believes he has sung on a clutch of the tracks expected to appear on Noel’s solo record, since many of them were recorded during the sessions for Oasis‘ final studio LP ‘Dig Out Your Soul‘.

“I’ve heard his fucking new record ‘cos I fucking sung on half of it,” he said. “When I was in America for ‘Dig Out Your Soul‘, and he swiped some off cos he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album. So he can talk all the bullshit about ‘Oh, I was intimidated’ and all that. Fucking nonsense. Behave. He knows. The people know. And I know. So no – it’s not better. And it won’t get any fucking better.”

While Liam Gallagher and his ex-Oasis bandmates press on with their own new venture, full debut single ‘The Roller‘ is reported to be set for its radio premiere on Friday (7th Jan), Noel Gallagher remains tight-lipped on his own future plans, though the solo album is widely tipped to be released sometime this year.

Oasis’ former manager Alan McGee has also been discussing Noel’s new material with Uncut, though he was slightly more complimentary than Liam, saying: “I’ve heard Noel’s stuff and it’s amazing man. It’s stripped down, three massive songs like ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger‘, ‘Live Forever‘ type of songs. I went through the songs and it was Tune! Tune! Tune! I would say it’s probably his best work since ‘…Morning Glory‘.

Beady Eye will release ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding‘ on February 28th.
