Liars hope to follow their 2012 record ‘WIXIW‘ in the March of next year.
“We’ve always loved dance music,” Angus Andrew told RBMA Radio of their current inspirations. “Right back to the first record, its always been there. For ‘WIXIW’ we worked around it and made it a little more difficult, so with this material we thought let’s just do it. It’s less cerebral, it’s more going for it and having fun with it.”
The latest album will be the New York band’s seventh after the extremely well-received predecessor arrived in the June of last year.
“I went on the holiday to the Philippines, freaked out a little bit, came home and my computer was sitting there and thought, ‘Fuck, I’m not going on tour, I’m going to see what happens’,” Andrew continued on the writing process. “Sometimes as an artist there’s a fear that you have to be ready, to step into the songwriting, and it’s great not to be in that position.”
