Keane confirm work on new album is completed

British trio Keane have confirmed work on their new record is now finished, and have announced a special one-off gig for March when several new tracks are set to be aired.

“To celebrate finishing their new album, Keane have decided to play a special show at a venue close to the band’s heart: the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex,” the band have said. “The show is on Friday, 9th March 2012 and the band will unveil several brand new songs (alongside some old favourites).”

“Tickets for this exclusive performance cost £25. There is a special pre-sale for Keane’s online fans, beginning at 9am on Thursday, 19th January from keanemusic.com/tickets. The general sale will then begin at 10am on Saturday, 21st January via keanemusic.com and gigsandtours.com, with a limited number of tickets available to buy in person from the De La Warr box office.”

Their new LP will be the band’s first since ‘Perfect Symmetry‘, which topped the UK charts upon its release in October 2008.

    Good news. But a few things…

    First: Keane is not a trio anymore. Since February 2011 is a quarted. Jesse Quin, who has been working with them since 2007, was officialy included in the band.

    Second: Next Perfect Symmetry they released an EP in 2010 called Night Train which was number 1 in the UK, like an album. This EP has 8 new songs.
