The Joy Formidable are making more than good progress on new material after the release of debut album ‘The Big Roar‘ last January.
The band’s singer Ritzy Bryan told the NME at the recent Osheaga festival in Montreal the Welsh trio have ’15 or 20′ songs written for a new LP, as the band never take their eyes of the songwriting ball.
“We started the second album ages ago. We write all the time, even when we’re on the road, because we record ourselves, we build collections of songs quite quickly,” she said.
“We have about 15 or 20 already, but lots of other bits too, there’ll be lots to choose from when we eventually sit down and sort it out.”
The release of ‘Big Roar’ came in the wake of a series of EPs and singles over the course of the past few years, and broke into the UK Top 40 upon its issue.
