Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has said he lives in hope that the legendary band will reunite sometime in the future, despite Roger Waters recently saying he has ‘no wish’ to be a part of Pink Floyd again.
However, Mason told Billboard he is far more receptive to the idea of himself, Waters, and fellow surviving member Dave Gilmour getting together on stage once more, as they become more aware of what such a move would mean to their fanbase.
“There are no plans now. The long and short of it is, I live in hope. I’d love to actually do something together again,” he said.
“All of us are open to invitations to do things; the only thing that would drive it would be some sense that there’s some particularly good reason to do it together rather than separately.”
“Perhaps we’re getting a bit older and more appreciative of just how much it can mean to our fanbase to see us together. I think we just have to wait and see.”
Back in November 2010, Mason turned down the chance to perform with Gilmour and Waters at a charity event, as he believed the occasion ‘wasn’t right’ for a Pink Floyd get-together.
