“Mam, I’m on Top Of The Pops” was once upon a time what every rock and roll band with pretensions of making it used to dream of uttering.
Now, the sight of a young band on the cusp of greatness playing live to the nation (without the addition of some boogie-woogie piano from an ex-Squeeze member) is a rare thing indeed. Step up This Feeling, whose grand pursuit to get guitar music back to the masses is about to witness the launch of an online TV show entitled Red Stripe presents: This Feeling TV.
“It’s an absolute travesty that, bar Jools Holland, which is nigh on impossible to get on, there’s no music shows currently on our TV screens,” founder Mikey Jonns believes.
“Well, that’s about change; please welcome This Feeling TV, bringing musical mayhem and magic back to a screen near you soon.”
“Red Stripe has long had an important association with the music scene – from reggae to ska to punk to rock – so it’s only right that we continue to keep the beer’s illustrious history and musical heritage alive,” Kate MacDonald of Red Stripe adds. “By helping launch This Feeling TV, we’ll give music lovers what they want, and help kick-start an exciting new chapter for the UK indie music scene.”
Expect live performances, exclusive interviews, tour bus gossip and more from new and established bands when the show begins filming next month. Radio X DJ Gordon Smart will act as host on the four, 20-minute shows coming from This Feeling’s main hub at North London’s Nambucca venue.
