The Strokes are continuing to bang away at their recent ‘Future Present Past‘ EP, and have posted an official lyric video for ‘Oblivius‘.
And why shouldn’t they plunder the EP for all it’s worth? It’s the first time they’ve had some new material to share with a live audience for quite some time, what with them due at Splendour In The Grass this weekend having played Governors Ball in New York last month.
‘Oblivius‘ was the first track from the EP to be premiered by, Julian Casablancas himself on Sirius XMU, though ‘Drag Queen‘ followed very soon after thanks to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 and ‘Threat Of Joy‘ via Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, all forming the first collection of new material from the band since 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine‘.
The Strokes are also due to play the inaugural City Of Angels Benefit Concert in Los Angeles a week today.
