It looks like the recording sessions discussed by Nick Valensi last year are going well.
Speaking about The Strokes‘ future plans late last year, the guitarist told NME that the band were, ‘alive and well and living in New York City’. “We are working on music and we want to hopefully put music out next year,” he continued.
He offered a similar update to DIY, revealing they were ‘slowly but surely working on an album’. “I don’t know when it’s going to be released, we’re kind of just in writing sessions. We’re writing. I’m actually in New York at the moment, at a studio in New York for that.”
Now, it’s the turn of Albert Hammond Sr., father of Valensi’s Strokes guitar partner, to give a status report, telling The West Australian that these sessions are being undertaken with producer Rick Rubin.
