NME are reporting the death of former Holloways member Rob Skipper at the age of just 28.
The publication points to an Instagram post from the band’s former agent Matt Bates which reads, ‘I’m so sorry to hear the terrible news today. Robb was always a true gentleman’, and claims Bates has confirmed the sad news to them, though a cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Mystery Jets‘ Blaine Harrison has also moved to discuss the news online, writing on Facebook: “Beautiful Rob you will be missed by all of us who knew and loved you, and had the honour of sharing a stage with you. See you at the great gig in the sky Skip.”
Skipper was at the forefront of The Holloways as they rode the wave of success being enjoyed by many guitar-based acts during the middle part of the last decade. They are perhaps best known for the hit single ‘Generator‘ which, after numerous re-releases, eventually broke the UK’s Top 20 in the June of 2007.
