Spector are the latest band to dip their toes in the growing trend for 360 videos.
The band’s effort made use of a 3D printed GoPro rig up on on the 30th floor of Google HQ in St. Giles, in the presence of a small group of fans showcasing the previously unheard track ‘Tenner‘. Keyboard player Danny Blandy wasn’t in attendance after losing an argument with a dog, meaning Swim Deep‘s James Balmont filled in.
Spector released their second album ‘Moth Boys‘ last year, highlighted by ‘All The Sad Young Men‘ – a track frontman Fred MacPherson said at the time was the, ‘best song the band have written’.
“‘All The Sad Young Men’ is one of the tracks that took us the longest to get right because of how much it meant to us,” he explained. “I’m pretty sure it’s the best song we’ve written, and its honesty plays a big part in that.”
