Spector are continuing to showcase their return with the pop-fused new single ‘Bad Boyfriend‘ which can be heard below.
We had the Dev Hynes produced ‘Don’t Make Me Try‘ just before Christmas and ‘All The Sad Young Men’ followed last month – of which frontman Fred MacPherson said:
“‘All The Sad Young Men’ is one of the tracks that took us the longest to get right because of how much it meant to us. I’m pretty sure it’s the best song we’ve written, and its honesty plays a big part in that.”
It all amounts to the first batch of new material to emerge from the band since the 2012 debut ‘Enjoy It While It Lasts‘.
Album closer ‘Not Fade Away‘ is dramatic, confident and about 2/3rds as epic as its title suggests – a rousing finish to what is certainly a good first album – sometimes maddening, sometimes joyous, but rarely forgettable,” our review concludes.
“If Spector buckle down and generate some new lyrical themes, their sophomore album could be an indie classic.”
