Taylor Swift‘s new album Folklore is out now just a few hours after it was first announced by the popstar on social media – have a listen on New Music Friday.
“Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen,” Swift said when announcing the record. “And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore.”
The LP features heavy contributions from Aaron Dessner of The National and Bon Iver chief Justin Vernon, the former saying he was, ‘was excited and honoured’ when approached earlier this year about the possibility of writing material.
“I had been isolating with my family but writing a ton of music in the first months of quarantine which I shared,” he continued. “I thought it would take a while for song ideas to come and I had no expectations as far as what we could accomplish remotely.”
