Mystery Jets have revealed the details of their forthcoming third studio album.
Out on July 5th, the new record will be called ‘Serotonin‘, and has been produced by Chris Thomas, who has worked with many classic acts throughout his long career including The Beatles, the Sex Pistols and Pink Floyd.
Frontman Blaine Harrison’s father Henry, who used to play live with the band, has contributed to the songwriting, an has described his thoughts on the make-up of the album: “We’ve got out hands in the mud,” he said. “That’s what I feel about this album. You take your hands out and if they’re covered in mud, you say, that’s alright. That’s the kind of feeling we want.”
Mystery Jets released their debut album ‘Making Dens‘ in March 2006. The follow-up, ‘Twenty One’, was issued in 2008 and featured singer-songwriter Laura Marling on the excellent track ‘Young Love‘. The new album will be their first to be released through Rough Trade after the group left 679 Recordings in January last year.
