Mogwai have unveiled UK dates for their ‘Atomic‘ soundtrack album.
With European and Japanese trips already arranged, the band have now added two nights at the Playhouse Theatre in Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, as well as September gigs in Coventry and London. The full schedule is below.
‘Atomic’s origins can be traced back to last year’s BBC Four documentary Atomic: Living In Dread and Promise, which told director Mark Cousins’ story of nuclear proliferation. The full album is out now.
“The Atomic soundtrack is one of the most intense and fulfilling projects we’ve taken on as a band,” Stuart Braithwaite has said. “Ever since we went to Hiroshima to play and visited the peace park this has been a subject very close to us.”
