The legendary Leonard Cohen is working on a new album, his son Adam has revealed.
Adam Cohen told BBC News he has been called into the sessions on a consultancy basis, but was also quick to dismiss the idea of a full blown collaboration between himself and his father at some stage in the future.
“I was asked in some consultant capacity on a few occasions and I’m very happy to listen to what’s being created and be asked for my opinions,” he explained.
“I would love to make music with my father and I have in a private way, but as for a public way he really doesn’t need my help or contribution. There’s something beautiful about not doing it just gratuitously.”
The new album will be Leonard Cohen’s first studio effort since 2004’s ‘Dear Heather‘. In 2008, the Canadian veteran played a stunning set on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, performing one of that weekend’s standout sets to one of its biggest audiences.
