Johnny Marr will begin a tour of the UK later this year as the promotional duties for his first solo album – 2013’s ‘The Messenger‘ – continue.
After numerous summer festival bookings are completed, Marr will arrive at the Gloucester Guildhall on October 4th for the first night of the tour, with a hometown date at the Manchester Academy booked for October 12th. The tour is later due to close at the Roundhouse in London on October 18th.
Meanwhile, Johnny Marr has also outlined the details of his latest single ‘New Town Velocity‘ – out on July 22nd. “It’s about reconnecting with the feelings I had growing up, the ones which shape you,” he told NME of the track. “It reminded me of the hazy summer morning at 15 when I decided not to ever go back to school.”
