The Hacienda’s 40th birthday party will be raising money for the Christie and Legacy Of War Foundation charities.
The Hacienda will return to its original location for an eight-hour anniversary celebration on May 21st.
Now the basement car park of an apartment block, the site of Hacienda’s original dancefloor will be hosting music once again as part of the various events which have been arranged to remember the milestone.
Graeme Park, DJ Paulette, Jon Dasilva, Tom Wainwright, Hewan Clarke and K Klass are some of the club’s legendary luminaries who’ll be appearing on the day which is to be livestreamed by StreamGM for those who can’t get tickets when they go on sale from this coming Friday, May 13th.
“The live streaming of The Hacienda 40th anniversary event on May 21st by StreamGM will draw people into the car park, the history of The Hacienda, Manchester’s culture and most importantly to the cause of the event which is to raise funds and awareness for The Legacy of War Foundation and The Christie, both of which are brilliant charitable organisations,” Factory co-founder Alan Erasmus says.
“I am absolutely amazed to be here at the fortieth. I am delighted that this party has met with the residents’ approval, and they have given it their wholehearted support,” Peter Hook adds.
“It is a great accolade to Tony Wilson and Rob Gretton that their utopian vision for Manchester remains so strong today and the legacy is celebrated by a new generation.”
