Doomsday is following the example set by Do You Still Love Me? in previewing Ryan Adams‘ next studio album Prisoner.
Due on February 17th, it’s the first we’ve heard from Adams since 2015 cover of Taylor Swift‘s 1989 album, and is heavily influenced by some of the eighties’ biggest pop hitters according to an interview with Entertainment Weekly , these including ELO, AC/DC and Bruce Springsteen. “When I run, I listen to a Nano that I have,” he said. “I put all the AC/DC records on from back to front, or I’ll listen to the best of stuff from the ’80s: Springsteen, or Hornsby, and I’ll listen to what is going on there.”
“I was listening to AC/DC’s Fly on the Wall and that’s when I realized what I had to do for the record.”
