David Bowie‘s personal art collection will be sold off at auction later this year after being exhibited around the world.
The ‘Bowie/Collector’ exhibtion, as it has been labelled, will take selected items from the collection of 400 pieces which includes works by Henry Moore, Frank Auerbach and Damien Hirst to London, Los Angeles, New York and Hong Kong from August to October before it all goes up for sale at Sotheby’s in London this coming November.
“David’s art collection was fuelled by personal interest and compiled out of passion,” says a spokesperson for the late icon’s estate. “He always sought and encouraged loans from the collection and enjoyed sharing the works in his custody.”
