The best part of six years on from ‘Wilderness Heart‘ – one of Live4ever’s albums of 2010 – Black Mountain are back with a brand new LP.
The Canadian band releases ‘IV‘ on April 1st, an album recorded at Avast! Studios in Seattle with producer Randall Dunn and the additional help of bassist Arjan Miranda. It’s an, ‘unapologetically ambitious record made by a group of musicians who are at the peak of their powers’, according to a press release, while drummer Joshua Wells describes the track ‘Cemetery Bleeding‘ as:
“A dark pop song with an emotive urgency to it that taps into my teenaged eyeliner-and-trenchcoat wearing sensibilities.”
“It’s like painting,” Wells continues. “All sound colour. And space is really important. People think of us as this heavy rock band – and we are sometimes – but it has to be tempered with space.”
“There has to be these emotional cues. It’s not just about rocking out.”
‘IV’ tracklist:
‘Mothers Of The Sun’
‘Florian Saucer Attack’
‘Defector’
‘You Can Dream’
‘Constellations’
‘Line Them All Up’
‘Cemetery Breeding’
‘(Over and Over) The Chain’
‘Crucify Me’
‘Space To Bakersfield’
