Guns n Roses mainman Axl Rose is suing Activision, the makers of the immensely popular Guitar Hero franchise, for $20 million, reports Reuters.
According to the news-agency, Axl is suing the video game company for ‘breach of contract’ after they apparently used Guns n Roses’ single ‘Welcome To The Jungle‘ in the recent Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock edition.
Reports suggest Axl has also complained about the use of his former bandmate Slash in the game, complaining of ‘an animated depiction of Slash, with his signature black top hat, long dark curly hair, dark sunglasses and nose-piercing’ on the game’s box.
He has also rallied againt the use of Guns n Roses’ classic ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine‘ in an online promo for Guitar Hero III, claiming the license for use of the song had only applied to the previous Guitar Hero II edition.
Rose’s lawyer has said the $20 million damages claim aims to hold Activision accountable for misuse of ‘incredibly valuable assets’.
As it currently stands, Activision are said to be yet to respond to the allegations.
