At The Drive-In appear to have opened up the possibilty of their recent reunion extending further into the future, with drummer Tony Hajjar telling Rolling Stone there could yet be ‘another chapter’ added to the comeback story.
After confirming their much-rumoured reformation earlier this year, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez had suggested their 2012 plans would not evolve into anything more than a short series of live gigs, telling Kerrang: “At The Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing – it’s songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we’re doing a couple of shows.”
However, Hajjar has now thrown a more positive light on their intentions, declaring that while they could ‘close the book’ on the band very soon, there could just as easily be something new emerging from the influential US group.
“It’s another chapter, that’s all it is,” he has said. “If you think of it as another chapter, you’re fine. If you think of it as you’re trying to relive something, you’re fucked.”
“This is just our next chapter, and there might be another chapter or we might close the book. That’s all we’re trying to do, and have a good time while doing it.”
