“Spirit, Power And Soul is a kind of mission statement,” Johnny Marr has decared. “I had an idea about an electro sound with gospel feeling, in my own word: an electro soul anthem.”
Johnny Marr is preparing for the release of a double solo album with a new single entitled Spirit, Power And Soul.
The single is part of the four-track EP Fever Dreams Pt. 1 which will be previewing the double LP from October 15th, out on The Smiths legend’s new home of BMG.
“I’m very pleased to be working with the people at BMG on this new chapter,” Marr said upon signing with the label earlier this month. “It’s a good feeling.”
Meanwhile, September is to bring Marr’s return to the live stage via headline gigs in Leeds, Blackburn and London ahead of an outdoor appearance at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground as part of the bill topped by The Courteeners.
