Arlo Parks has released her debut album Collapsed In Sunbeams on this latest New Music Friday – have a listen on Live4ever.
Unveiled back in October, the album has had a steady stream of poetic, chilled production singles, those coming along with regular collaborations with artists such as Phoebe Bridgers and Future Utopia.
“My album is a series of vignettes and intimate portraits surrounding my adolescence and the people that shaped it,” she’s said. “It is rooted in storytelling and nostalgia — I want it to feel both universal and hyper specific.”
These are themes Arlo Parks has gone into more detail on as those singles have been released, saying of Caroline:
“I was really inspired by the idea of people watching and empathy and I’ve been writing short stories since I was about 7 or 8 so it was incredible to be able to come back to that original first love in terms of writing.”
