Porridge Radio unveil their festive single The Last Time I Saw You (O Christmas)

Porridge Radio

Porridge Radio landed a Mercury Prize nomination in 2020 for Every Bad.

Porridge Radio are signing off a year which saw them release one of its best albums by joining in the seasonal spirit…in their own way.

“It’s a song about having a miserable time every Christmas and the same cycles of heartbreak and depression endlessly repeating themselves,” Dana Margolin says of The Last Time I Saw You (O Christmas). “We had a lot of fun with it – enjoy.”

Live4ever picked Every Bad as one of our top albums of year on our half-term report in the spring, urging everyone to ‘prepare to immerse yourself in this collection of compassionate war cries’:

“Broadly speaking, the album is grandiose in scale, perfectly exemplified by Margolin’s titanic vocals. Lyrically, her nearest touchpoint is Karen O, but on the ever-so-slightly ponderous Nephews she performs some vocal gymnastics that only Florence Welch would try, while on the eerie (Something) her voice is auto-tuned to chilling effect.”
