The War On Drugs released their epic new album LIVE DRUGS last week.
The first episode of the Super High Quality Podcast is up now on Spotify, a companion piece to The War On Drugs‘ recent live album.
Taking its name from Adam Granduciel’s Super High Quality Records label, the podcast is immediately doing what it promised to do by reflecting LIVE DRUGS’ own focus on the live evolution of the band during the past ten years by telling the story of Lost In The Dream standout Eyes To The Wind, how it developed into the acoustic-led version we find on the album, known by the band now as ‘Copenhagen Wind’.
“As a band leader, I always want to know where a song can go,” Granduciel has said of the LP. “Even though we’ve recorded it, mastered it, put it out, and been touring on it, it doesn’t mean that we just have to do it the same way forever.”
“It feels like it’s kind of a reset, to be able to put something out that’s a really good interpretation of the way we interpret our music live. Even though this recording is from a year of tours, this is really how these six guys evolved as a band from 2014 to 2019.”
