The nominations for this year’s Brit Awards have been revealed, and it’s Lewis Capaldi and Dave who are leading the way.

While it’s a fairly pointless endeavor to start picking holes in the always-underwhelming Brits shortlist, both the omissions and dubious virtues of some of the chosen few are once again unavoidable, particularly in the Group and Album Of The Year categories.

At least some recognition for a strong year in British music is there thanks to Dave’s nominations in the Male Solo Artist, New Artist, Best Song and Album Of The Year categories.

FKA twigs, Michael Kiwanuka and Stormzy are some of the other artists to buck the common trend, but it’s likely to be Lewis Capaldi who’ll dominate the ceremony when it takes place at the O2 Arena in London on February 18th.
