Felix White will be with Foals at tonight’s Mercury Prize ceremony, filling in on guitar duties for Yannis Philipakkis who had a ‘run in with a knife in Greece’.

Foals will be performing in London tonight after receiving a Mercury Prize nomination for this year’s Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 1 album. And for a White, he’ll be dusting off the live cobwebs shortly after releasing his first post-Maccabees material – the soundtrack for The Edge. “I saw it as an opportunity to make music with a different framework to anything I was used to previously,” he said of it.

“One of the things that was striking to me about the film was how brutally honest the players were and how humanising it was.”

“I wanted to try to articulate all the things that are so emotive, enduring and dramatic about Test cricket and the personalities within that might have otherwise been dismissed.”
