Good old fashioned ‘creative differences’ have been blamed for frontman Mike Ellis‘ surprise departure from The Vryll Society.

His now ex-bandmate Lloyd Shearer has apologised to fans after the parting of ways with Ellis caused a UK tour which had been scheduled for this month and next to be cancelled. “We’ve achieved many great things with Mike and we can’t thank him enough,” he added.

“We’ve had some great times as a band with Mike over the past few years and wish him all the best for his career in the future.”

“It’s been a great journey with many highs and some lows but I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, especially our album,” Ellis himself said. “I wish the lads well and I will also be continuing to write music myself and will share it with you in the near future.”

The Vryll Society are reported to be pressing on with new material too in their fresh guise.
