U2 have added more shows to their Joshua Tree 30th anniversary tour after tickets were snapped up within minutes of going on sale yesterday.
As reported on Live4ever, a second night at the Twickenham stadium in London has been confirmed for July 9th, and there’s also new shows at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on July 16th, the Stade de France in Paris on July 26th and the Amsterdam Arena on July 30th.
It means more work for Noel Gallagher who’ll be supporting across Europe, while Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers and One Republic are along for the ride in America.
“It seems like we have come full circle from when The Joshua Tree songs were originally written, with global upheaval, extreme right wing politics and some fundamental human rights at risk,” The Edge has said.
“To celebrate the album – as these songs seem so relevant and prescient of these times too – we decided to do these shows, it feels right for now. We’re looking forward to it.”
