Richard Ashcroft has let slip his plans to play a live show with Liam Gallagher later this year.
Speaking to Radio X, Ashcroft revealed he will resume a long association with the Gallagher brothers in 2017, without giving any further details:
“I played a show with Noel a few months ago and I’m playing with Liam later in the year.”
Ashcroft was on the Glasgow’s Summer Sessions bill with Noel Gallagher last August. He headlines the Sounds Of The City event in Manchester on June 30th, a gig which right now seems like an obvious fit for Liam Gallagher to act as support.
Wherever it occurs, it’ll add more to Liam’s live commitments behind an expected debut solo album release this year, joining previously confirmed appearances at Norway’s Bergenfest between June 14th-17th and the Les Ardentes Festival in Belgium on July 9th.
