Matt Bellamy believes Muse are ‘among the last’ of the staple, 20th century rock band as his own group prepares to headline Glastonbury tomorrow.
“In the traditional mid-20th Century sense, I think we probably are among the last of the rock bands,” Bellamy has said during an interview with the Telegraph (via NME).
“But the term ‘rock star’ is used very loosely these days. You could carry a laptop rather than a guitar and still be a rock star.”
Muse are topping the Pyramid Stage for 2016 with Adele and Coldplay, and Bellamy is expecting something, at some point, to go wrong during the performance.
“Really, the stage is not yours,” he continued. “There are so many components that are unpredictable and out of your control. So there’s no-one to blame if anything goes wrong – which it will.”
It’s James who’ll officially begin Glastonbury 2016 on the Other Stage tomorrow morning.
