Foals will fulfill a desire to get a little sweaty just before the release of their new album ‘What Went Down‘ at the Village Underground in London.
The band have announced a gig at the venue for August 25th, saying in a statement that they, ‘wanted to play a sweaty London gig around the album release, one where we finally get to play some more new songs’.
Foals’ fourth studio album is gearing up to be something suitably epic if the succession of teasers are anything to go by. The most recent of these, ‘A Knife In The Ocean‘, has been described frontman Yannis Philippakis to NME thus:
“We were basically packing up to leave. We thought we had the album written. We’d played the other songs a lot, but that was one that just came out of a jam, once the pressure was off.”
“The vocal line isn’t a normal vocal line for me. I’ve never done anything like that before. Musically, I think it’s the perfect closer to the record. It captures the essence of what the band is trying to do.”
