Wild Beasts have sacrificed themselves to some psychological tests, all for the sake of a video for ‘Palace‘ which can be seen on Live4ever through this link.
It’s been directed by Alex Turvey and is a pleasant reminder of the band’s 2014 album ‘Present Tense‘. “The idea of the video was to match the feel of a cheap game show with the content of a rather cruel psychological experiment,” Tom Fleming explains. “We wanted to make something that felt like an event and a sort of project, rather than what passes for a trad music video.”
After reaching number 10 in the UK back in February, ‘Present Tense’ was re-released a couple months ago in expanded form, complete with a bonus CD of remixes led by Foals‘ take on the song we’re concentrating on here.
But looking forward not back, Wild Beasts will be at Canal Mills in Leeds on December 11th for a ‘Soft Future’ night when East India Youth, Evian Christ, Nathan Fake, Fryers and Forest Swords are all performing.
