Video: Arctic Monkeys hand live debut to new track ‘Arabella’

Arctic Monkeys handed a live debut to the impending ‘AM‘ album track ‘Arabella‘ during their headline appearance at the Zurich Open Air Festival during the weekend. Have a watch of fan footage below.

Along side the fresh live performance, official singles ‘Do I Wanna Know?‘ and ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?‘ have already been unveiled ahead of the release of the Sheffield group’s fifth album on September 9th.

A host of guest stars, including poet John Cooper Clarke and Queens Of The Stone Age‘s Josh Homme, are due to feature on the record, but one band who turned down a spot were Haim, whose work on their own debut effort derailed any chance for the trio to provide backing vocals on ‘Do I Wanna Know?’.

“They loved it,” producer James Ford recently told NME. “So me and the Arctics had the discussion, ‘Should we get some real girls in?”.

“We tried to push things around to make it work,” Haim bass player Este Haim continued. “But when it came down to it, we had to finish our record. That would have been our biggest dream come true – to sing on an Arctic Monkeys record. It was one of the most painful calls to say no. Maybe the worst day of my life.”
