Roger Waters thanked fans at London’s O2 Arena last night as he brought the curtain down on a short residency at the venue as he tours a re-worked version of Pink Floyd‘s 1980-81 The Wall tour.

Waters told the crowd of his reservations with rock n roll audiences when he first worked on his former band’s eleventh studio album, reservations that he now no longer holds.

“Thirty years ago when I wrote this piece I wasn’t too good with rock ‘n’ roll audiences but, as you know, times have changed and I couldn’t be more happier than to be here with all of you,” he told the crowd. “Thank you! Thank you from all of us.”

After completing his dates at the O2, which included a surprise reunion with his former Pink Floyd bandmates Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason, Waters will now move on to Manchester’s MEN Arena tomorrow night (May 20th), after which dates in Dublin and a European tour will follow, before he returns to the UK at the end of next month.
