Foals, Arcade Fire Lead 2011 NME Awards Nominees

Arcade Fire and Foals lead the way in the nominations for this year’s NME Awards, with the latter being up for each of the night’s main prizes – Best British Band, Best Album, Best Track and Best Live Band.

Arcade Fire are also in the running for major awards, joining the Mercury-nominated Foals in the Best Live Band section, along with Best International Band, Best Album and Best Video nominations.

Beady Eye
are the most high profile group to be in with a chance of picking up the Best New Band award, but will face stiff competition from the likes of The Drums, Two Door Cinema Club, and the brilliantly maverick Everything Everything. Both fans and detractors of Liam Gallagher‘s Pretty Green clothing range appear to have had their say, with the former Oasis frontman nominated in both the Most, and Least Stylish sections. Kings Of Leon have proved equally decisive, and could walk away as both the Best, and Worst International Band.

The awards, which are voted for by the readers of NME, will be handed out a ceremony to be held at the Brixton Academy on February 23rd.
