US Rockers Kings Of Leon Lead MTV Europe Music Award Nominations

Just another day in the life of super indie group Kings of Leon as they racked up five award nominations for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.

KOL will go head-to-head with Lady GaGa, who is also up for five gongs, in three categories – best song, best live act and best world stage performance.




The band will also be joining Linkin Park, U2 and Foo Fighters who are all in contention for or the best group and best rock awards.

Meanwhile, Florence and the Machine have been nominated in the best UK and Ireland new act, while Muse, Paramore, Placebo, The Killers and The Prodigy will slug it out for the best alternative prize.

Bruce Gillmer, MTV’s senior vice president, said that the ceremony will deliver “exceptional live performances by some of the biggest and most exciting musical acts in the world”. The MTV spectacle takes place in Berlin on November 5th.
